Spring is coming

Sitting at my son's swim lesson last night transported me back a few years (okay, maybe more than a few) to thinking about my past swimming life and how the end of indoor swimming always signaled spring with summer around the corner. (Yes, I spent more time in the water than anywhere else for much of my younger years.)

After the winter that we have had, Ohio seeing multiple days colder than Alaska, I think most of us are ready to see spring arrive. As of today, we have just under one month until its official arrival. Looking at the items on store shelves you would think that it is closer than that with seeds and other garden items becoming front and center for shoppers to grab. My husband and I begin to plan what veggies and other flowers will go in the garden for the year. Some of which we begin to plant indoors to give them a head start.

Spring also signals the start of the soccer season again. In just a few short weeks we should be hearing from JR's coach about practices and then a game schedule. I love watching how he improves each season that he plays. I doubt he will ever play on teams other than just for fun, which I am perfectly fine with, but I will continue to encourage him to play as long as he continues wanting to be on the field.

So, from a mildly busy winter our household begins its transition to a hectic spring schedule. But you know what? I wouldn't change it for anything.
